The Future of Academic Libraries - the Road ahead

BIBSYS inviterer lederne ved BIBSYS-bibliotek, og fagpersoner de ønsker skal delta, til seminar i forbindelse med arbeidet med fremtidig utvikling av BIBSYS.
Tema
Seminaret vil i hovedsak bli holdt på engelsk, men det vil være anledning for deltakerne til å komme med kommentarer og stille spørsmål på norsk.
Seminarets tema er
- What are the challenges for the academic libraries in the near future?
- Which services do their institutions expect them to deliver?
- What is the impact of an increasing amount of electronic material compared to printed?
- Will staff and students change their working methods as the “Google-generation”?
- What is the status of library automation in your institution?
- What are your future plans for development, modernising, migrating etc?
- What is your general view on the commercial and open source systems available to libraries at the moment?
The term “library automation” should be considered in a broad sense, incorporating not only traditional library management systems, but information systems for HE institutions, for research documentation, institutional document repositories, learning systems etc. Of special interest are obviously system aspects such as degree of integration, degree of centralisation, and consortia solutions.

Avgift på kr 1.000,- pr deltaker vil bli fakturert etter seminaret. Avgiften dekker lunsj og kaffe/te i pausene for begge dagene. (Det vil ikke bli arrangert felles middag).Deltakelse på seminaret er begrenset til lederne ved BIBSYS bibliotek, og fagpersoner som de ønsker skal delta. I tillegg kommer andre som har fått invitasjon fra BIBSYS.
