BIBSYS provides research and special libraries with products that will enhance the efficiency of library operations, as well as make library resources easily accessible for students, researchers and other library users. In addition, we offer products that enable research documentation, storage and availability of picture collections.

BIBSYS Ask

The search tool BIBSYS Ask is freely available to all. You may use BIBSYS Ask to search for documents in these BIBSYS databases: The Library Database, ForskDok publications, ForskDok projects and BIBSYS Emneportal.

BIBSYS Library System

The BIBSYS Library System takes care of all internal routines at a library, such as loan, registration, purchase, periodicals control, budget control, search etc.

BIBSYS ForskDok

BIBSYS ForskDok is a research documentation system, and is used for documenting the R&D activities of institutions as well as of individual researchers. The ForskDok databases contain information about nearly 8,000 ongoing or completed R&D projects, and more than 230,000 publications and other results of R&D activity. You may search the ForskDok databases via BIBSYS Ask.

BIBSYS Brage

BIBSYS Brage facilitates the publishing and communication of research and student work in open institutional archives. BIBSYS Brage is a shared electronic publishing system operating on behalf of an association (consortium) of BIBSYS participants. Each institution with access to BIBSYS Brage has its own institutional archive.

The following institutions have their own instance of BIBSYS Brage. Search is available to everyone. Registration and administration, however, are limited.

BIBSYS Mime

BIBSYS Mime is a search engine that can access fulltext documents. The search engine is being used by 37 institutions. BIBSYS Mime allows you access to information from a large number of suppliers. The functions and search sources available to you will depend on the institution where you are a patron.

BIBSYS Tyr

BIBSYS Tyr provides you with a list of available e-journals. This search engine is being used by 37 institutions. BIBSYS Tyr lists and accesses the e-journals and e-books your institution subscribes to. In addition, BIBSYS Tyr gives you online access to several thousand free e-journals. What e-journals are available to you depends on the institution where you are a patron. In BIBSYS Tyr you may also store your personal profile and activate a notification service for new articles.

BIBSYS Emneportal

BIBSYS Emneportal is a search tool freely available to all. BIBSYS Emneportal allows you access to quality-controlled Internet resources, and covers the academic disciplines taught at Norwegian universities and university colleges.
